THIS VEHICLE WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING

It will change the way you work, it will also change the way you'll play. The Tomcar is an innovative and unique two-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle.

New to Australia, the Tomcar's specialised design separates it from any other vehicle on the market today.

Originally researched and developed in conjunction with the military, the Tomcar has been in continual active development for over twenty years, and successfully serves numerous military and security forces in conflict zones across the world, the most recent with the British Army contingent of the NATO force currently stationed in Afghanistan.

The Tomcar’s original battlefield pedigree translates into an elegantly simple and visionary design that makes it easy to drive and allows quick repair capabilities in the field. The Tomcar’s unique abilities can be applied to many tasks outside combat, and as such the civilian market is increasingly utilising Tomcar vehicles. Tomcar Australia is 100% Australian owned.

The Tomcar itself is a remarkable feat of modern engineering and geometric balance. All the mechanics and electronics are elegantly simple, not only allowing easy part replacement but also providing an excellent platform for almost infinite customization.

The roll-over bar and frame of the vehicle is welded as one complete unit, making the structure of the Tomcar immensely strong. This provides a rigid safety-cell for the occupants and also gives the vehicles a lightweight and reliable frame structure. High-grade tubular steel is used throughout the frame, which is made up of hundreds of individual hand-welded parts. The cars also boasts a full-length underfloor skid plate that protects the underside of the vehicle from terrain damage and enables it to ‘glide over’ obstacles that would stop other vehicles in their tracks.

The Tomcar range is powered by either petrol or diesel engines, and are all fully automatic with forward, neutral and reverse. The vehicles also come with high and low ratio gearboxes and differential lock that can be engaged whilst driving. The Tomcar comes in both two and four seat versions, and also in a Ute version that has 100% payload capacity.

The transmission system of the cars is a Tomcar belt-driven “Continuous Variable Transmission” system (“CVT”). This CVT system is ideal for the two-wheel drive Tomcar, providing continuous power on demand to the final drive and rear wheels.

The Tomcar’s rear suspension and final drive system is unique compared with other current off-road production vehicles. The rear wheels are powered through a swing arm system - sealed double chains bathed in oil. These swing arms are the reason for the Tomcar’s high ground clearance and are integral to the performance of the rear suspension system.

The Tomcar’s world class independent suspension system is standard on all models and forms the basis for the Tomcar’s amazingly smooth off-road ride quality. With suspension travel at both the front and rear of the vehicle of over 33cm, the suspension system does all the hard work, almost floating the vehicle over the ground.

The Tomcar can boast an industry leading ground clearance of 38cm from front to rear and a extremely low centre of gravity that is located below the drivers seat.

All Tomcars come standard with headlamps, indicator lamps, break lights, reverse lights, and a variety of instrumentation in the cabin (including fuel, temp gauge and oil pressure) and four-point safety belts that can withstand high stress, although still fit comfortably.

The Tomcar is a reliable and tough workhorse, easy to maintain and designed to deliver many years of worry-free work and play. Most parts are easy to access without heavy equipment and can be repaired or replaced in the field.

"I was almost immediately impressed, the Tomcar absorbed the bumps with such ease that the passengers remain fresh at the end of the day, not bruised, abused, and tense like the poor saps faced with extended seat time in a typical side-by-side UTV."
